Marathoning for miracles
When it comes to children and meeting their needs, people are passionate. And often their passions are intertwined with the ability to raise money for worthy causes. Thus was born the idea for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals' latest fundraiser ‐ Marathoning for Miracles. A group of Hendrick employees along with avid runners in the community decided it was time for Abilene to have its own certified marathon course, perfect for achieving qualifying times for larger events such as the Boston Marathon. The best part of this event is all proceeds will go to Hendrick Children's Hospital, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
The marathon is set for November 3 and will include a half marathon, 5K and kid's fun run. We are anticipating approximately 750 runners and 200-300 community volunteers.
